With a strong desire to become a centre of excellence in the academic field in the entire North Eastern region, the college is not only imparting formal education to its students, but it also endeavours to motivate young generation of learners to dream of a social order based of dignity of labour as well as on moral and spiritual values. The mission of the college stresses on the all-round development of the students- physical, intellectual and moral. The famous hymn of the Upanishada "Tamaso Ma Jyotirgamaya" engraved in the emblem of the college reflects very distinctively the mission of the college. It has endeavoured to drive away darkness of ignorance and usher in the light of knowledge. The thrust area is to impart futuristic education and instilling high standards of discipline among students. The college is working relentlessly on imparting scientific and rational temperament among not only the students and teachers of the college but also among the greater South Kamrup area through its community based programmes, awareness campaign, extension activities, outreach programmes in different rural schools and villages. The college NSS group also plays an active role in different extension activities. Moreover, furthering its commitment of social inclusiveness and upliftment of the poor and the downtrodden the college had already adopted three backward villages- Gargara, Ganeshpara and Monpur.

The IQAC, felt the need of taking feedback from all its stakeholders and a resolution has been taken to this effect in a meeting. Thus feedback is taken on various institutional qualitative aspects viz. on teachers, departmental infrastructure, curriculum, campus infrastructure, office, library, hostels etc. the IQAC members strongly believes that analysing the feedback and identifying the problem areas and addressing the issues of concern would lead to the holistic development. Enhancing the effectiveness of learning remains the topmost priority of the college.
